A Holding company is defined as an investment company, which invests the funds raised in a portfolio with eligible bills.
According to this model, the participation of an investor requires and other investors, who possess these shares on the Stock exchange and also they should want to sell them at the price that the investor desires to buy.
The Greek government enacted a new legislative framework so to adopt the model of Holding company. Specifically, the Reg. 4150/2013 provides the establishment of the Holding company called ‘‘Attica Port System’’ by incorporating to the Piraeus Port Authority SA three others ports, Rafina, Lavrio and Eleufsina.
The same direction followed by the Port Authority of Thessaloniki, which will join the ports of Kavala, Alexandroupolis and Volos and finally the Patras Port Authority, with the ports of Igoumenitsa and Corfu.
