The formation of merger, ONE, caused a thorough shake-up in container shipping.

A new merger officially began operations on April 1st , 2018, including Japan’s formerly-three largest shipping lines, Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line).

ONE is a result of shipping consolidations in the wake of Hanjin Shipping’s bankruptcy in an attempt to stay afloat
